Education Nation is a nationally broadcast, in-depth conversation about improving education in the United States. We created an identity that encourages students, teachers, parents, policy makers and community leaders to come together to achieve the shared goal of the best education in the world. NBC turned Rockefeller Plaza into a "Learning Plaza," which included five interactive exhibits with sobering statistics and a Call to Action for the public.
The inaugural weeklong event included a summit with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a teacher town hall, multi-media coverage on "Nightly News," "Today," "Meet the Press," MSNBC, CNBC and Telemundo, along with interactive exhibits that encouraged the public to become involved with education within their local community.
Since 2010, Education Nation has become a year round initiative by visiting local communities across the country on the annual Education Nation Tour, maintaining a thriving online community and launching the award-winning Learning Curve Blog.
